In October, the grape harvest was completed in all the pilot vineyards of the LIFE VitiCaSe project: this marked the end of the first year of field application of sustainable soil management practices.

The CREA staff compiled a report on all the activities carried out in the first two years of the project: soil sampling, baseline definition, choice of practices adopted by the farms and the initial results of the site visits carried out this summer.

The inspections and data collection for the last agricultural year also provided a useful opportunity for direct discussion with winegrowers to gather their views on how the project is progressing, what difficulties they have encountered and what agronomic results they have achieved.

At the same time, work continued on the certification of the carbon credits that will be generated; the project has been published on the ICR platform and validation will take place in the coming months, the first step in the process that will lead to the release of carbon credits.
