Regenerative viticulture is a sustainable approach that aims to improve soil health and increase the capacity of vines to sequester carbon. The LIFE VitiCaSe project, an open innovation initiative, aims to increase soil organic carbon, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate climate change. The wineries involved, such as Castello di Albola, San Felice Wine Estates and Ruffino, emphasize the importance of virtuous agronomic practices, technological innovation and sustainable soil management to protect this heritage for future generations.
Thanks to the event organized by UPA Siena as part of the Confagricoltura stand at Viniltaly, these issues were discussed and the protagonists of the project were interviewed.
These included Image Line's contact persons (Simona Palermo, coordinator of LIFE VitiCaSe) and Simonetta De Leo (representing CREA).
