Lien de la Vigne launches the "Jean-Pierre Megnin Award" for research in the international wine sector

Published on 2026-05-14

The international association Lien de la Vigne – Vinelink has announced the launch of the Jean-Pierre Megnin Award, an annual prize dedicated to the best Master’s theses focused on the international wine sector. The initiative honours Jean-Pierre Megnin, founder of the association and a key figure in fostering scientific dialogue and international cooperation in the wine world.

The award, promoted by the Bureau Exécutif of the association chaired by Carlo De Biasi, will grant a EUR 1,500 prize each year to research distinguished by scientific quality, innovation and impact on the international wine sector. Eligible topics include sustainability and regenerative viticulture, alongside wine economics, digital innovation, governance and international trade.

As a European project committed to promoting sustainable and Climate-Smart practices in vineyards, LIFE VitiCaSe welcomes this initiative with particular interest. Although we are not involved in organising the award, we believe it is important to highlight initiatives that support research, young talent and the dissemination of innovative and regenerative agricultural models within the wine sector.

Since the presentation of the LIFE VitiCaSe project, Lien de la Vigne – Vinelink has shown strong interest in sustainability and innovation in viticulture. For this reason, we are pleased to share this opportunity with students and researchers worldwide.

Applications can be submitted until 31 October 2026, and the winner will be invited to present their work during the Association’s next General Assembly, planned for 2027 in Spain.
