The LIFE VitiCaSe project – of which Castello di Albola is a proud partner – has been officially included in the 2024 Sustainability Report of the historic Chianti estate. This recognition highlights the value of regenerative agriculture and sustainable viticulture in the company’s environmental and social strategy.
LIFE VitiCaSe was selected for its measurable impact on soil protection, organic carbon sequestration, and nature-based solutions in vineyard management. Castello di Albola contributed about 50 hectares of organic vineyard to test practices such as minimum tillage, spontaneous grass cover, green manure with legumes, and improved mulching of pruning residues.
The project strengthens the estate’s Equalitas sustainability certification and reflects Castello di Albola’s long-term commitment: producing excellent wines while preserving biodiversity, tradition and the cultural heritage of the Chianti region.
