LIFE VitiCaSe at the 2026 Lien de la Vigne Assembly

Published on 2026-02-20

Two days of discussion and shared vision at the 2026 Annual Assembly of the Association Lien de la Vigne – Vinelink, hosted at the prestigious Maison Moët & Chandon, in the heart of the Champagne region.

This year’s edition represented a concrete moment of dialogue between science, technology, and viticulture, featuring international contributions from Europe and Australia on highly relevant topics for the wine sector:

- Artificial Intelligence applications in viticulture, oenology, sales and marketing;

- robotics and drones for vineyard management;

- regenerative viticulture and international case studies.

Within this highly qualified context, Gabriele Mongardi, Technical Project Manager of the LIFE VitiCaSe project, presented the experience gained so far by the partnership, illustrating the project’s state of progress and the first results related to the implementation of carbon farming practices in the pilot vineyards of Castello di Albola, San Felice Wine Estates and Tenute Ruffino.

Participation in the Assembly represented a strategic milestone for the project: not only an opportunity to disseminate the first results, but above all a key moment in view of launching the replication phase in France.

With the support of partner EZ Lab France – represented at the event by Fabrizio Delage – LIFE VitiCaSe intends to initiate a process to identify and engage French wine companies interested in replicating the model developed by the project, based on:

- analysis and adoption of Sustainable Soil Management (SSM) practices;

- quantification of soil carbon stock through a dedicated IT Tool;

- economic valorisation through carbon credit certification mechanisms.

The dialogue initiated in Épernay strengthens a shared vision: building a more resilient, sustainable and data-driven wine sector, capable of addressing global climate challenges while preserving the identity of its terroirs.

The collaborations activated during the Assembly will lay the groundwork for the project’s next developments in France.

Our thanks to the Association Lien de la Vigne – Vinelink for their hospitality and to all participants for the stimulating exchange.

The journey continues towards new European synergies for carbon farming in viticulture.
