With spring well underway and the growing season in full swing, the LIFE VitiCaSe project is also preparing to embark on a new phase: the replication of the carbon farming practices developed and tested in the pilot vineyards of the partner organisations.
But what does ‘replication’ mean?
In the context of the project, replication means transferring the approach developed by LIFE VitiCaSe to other wine-producing estates, with a view to improving sustainable soil management and promoting carbon sequestration in vineyards through regenerative agronomic practices and dedicated technical tools.
The aim is to enable other Italian and European wine-growing organisations to learn about, adopt and trial the solutions developed by the project in their own vineyards, thereby contributing to the sector’s environmental sustainability and the wider adoption of carbon farming.
Interested organisations can contact the project team to find out more about the methods, requirements and opportunities for replication. In addition, technical manuals and guidelines developed as part of LIFE VitiCaSe will be made available.
The technical and scientific committee of the LIFE VitiCaSe project will select the most suitable organisations to take part in the replication activities; these organisations will have the opportunity to attend training sessions and engage in direct dialogue with the other partners before implementing the replication in their own settings. All organisations that express an interest will, in any case, be sent guidelines on how to adopt sustainable management practices for their vineyards.
There are no registration fees for taking part in the replication activities, and no direct funding is provided to the participating businesses: training and initial support will be provided by the project.
